Mission Statement: The mission of the RMS library is to provide professional andmaterial resources in a learning environment that empowers all members of the RMS community to be expert creators, producers and users of information as globally engaged citizens.
Vision Statement: The RMS library is housed in our Learning Commons. The LLC is alive with inquiry learning. Students and teachers go to learning together as they identify their own questions and explore multiple resources to find answers to them. The 4Cs are evident every day as teachers guide students through the WISER research process. Teachers collaborate with the School Library Media Coordinator (SLMC), Instructional Technology Facilitator (ITF) and colleagues from other disciplines to design lessons and projects. Students work together in groups and act as "study buddies" for each other, coaching and encouraging one another to create solutions to real problems. Students and teachers share books they've read and encourage others to read them. They utilize all available resources in this Learning Commons including books and other print material, computers, iPads, SmartBoard, video cameras and software programs to access, evaluate, analyze and synthesize information to make meaningful connections and create new knowledge for themselves, their peers and the world.
